Has anyone had personal experience of a dog with this problem?
I have googled it so have information, but would be great to here from someone who has been through it.

Yes, over 10 years ago so medicines/treatments are hopefully advanced since then. My bitch was diagnosed at Stone Lion specialists in Wimbledon. She was on a very high dose of steroids during which she had to be spayed because of a pyo, not a good combination & died as a result of her wound splitting open. I think we would've lost her anyway. My vet at the time had a successful case with a collie who'd got better but was temporarily blind during treatment.

thank you everyone, the dog that might have this(blood results due back on tues) is not mine but was bred by my friend and I have litter sisters to her. she is only just turned 6 months old and we are all devistated. She was fine at her 1st show on Saturday, even qualified for Crufts and we were all so thrilled....then she went downhill when they got home. She is on steroids now so fingers crossed for her. Thank you for the links I will pass them on.
