Ok , I haven't been to the theatre for at least 20ish years so i'm out of the loop as to what to wear!!
Is it still smart dress or has it casualled down a bit now? Was thinking of wearing a nice dress i've got but only my black boots go with it - are these a no no or would they be ok?
Any advice very welcomed!!
Thanks, Kate

Depends on what u are seeing? Last time I was in the west end I wore jeans and a jumper. If it's for the rocky horror show, well you could be open to anything.. :-D It's got a lot more casual now

definately not the rocky horror show! :) It's War Horse so guessing not too smart , like it would be for the ballet or similar??
>It's War Horse
You're going to (((love))) it!! I went couple of weeks ago highly recommend it.... fantastic!
It was baking hot when I went and so I was just wearing a floaty summer dress, Seemed to be quite casual dress wise lots of people in jeans, but a real mix of smart/smart casual and just plain casual, so anything goes Kate. Wear what you're most comfortable in.
Have a lovely time I've no doubt you will :-)

i don't think there's a certain dress code for going to the threatre these days, so just go in what you feel most comfy in. Unless you feel like dressing up for the occasion.
Hope you enjoy it.

Haven't been to the theatre for ages, but was passing the Theatre in Newcastle a few weeks ago when the audience was going in, and it does seem to be quite a mix now, there was lots of people in jeans or veyr casual trouser, but a large segment in smart casual(men in jackets, ladies in dresses, trousers and pretty tops etc), and about an equal number quite dressy indeed (men in suits, ladies in formal suits, dresses etc). Was a bit puzzled by the number of people taking carrier bags and tote bags in with them - why would you need a shopping bag at the theatre?
> why would you need a shopping bag at the theatre?
People often make a day of a theatre trip.. A shop, dinner and theatre.....I guess that may be a reason why. At a recent visit, the family behind us drove us mad with their munching and slurping, so that could be another clue

Smart casual, I wouldn't dress up too much, bty warhorse has great reviews and the pupetry is amazing, much like the Take that Live tour thing with the elephant
I wore chino's and a nice shirt with a cardigan over the shoulders as it was chilly when we came out. Saw Warhorse myself excellent you will enjoy it.
