Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Recession?

Hi,

Has anyone noticed a slowing down of pup purchasers during the current financial climate? I am wondering if I am doing something wrong?

I think it's more likely to be the time of year with holidays etc.  Normally once we go into August I seem to get more enquiries for pups - although I don't have any available at the moment.

I don't know if it may be a breed specific thing, but in my breed, especially where I live, there aren't really any litters so have been flooded with enquiries. I agree that generally in the summer hols, it usually slows down somewhat as people are holidaying etc.

Hope you get lots of good quality enquiries soon :)

Thanks! I was putting it down to the summer holidays a bit as well. A few of the pups I have sold are staying with me so people can go on holiday etc - although 1 lot have reduced their foreign holiday by a few days as they are so excited about coming to collect their new baby!!

I'm getting quite a few emails. I remember when we got the boys it was just after our honeymoon - it was SO hard to concentrate on enjoying the lovely holiday when I wanted to go home and get my puppies! :-p

There are loads of my breed being born at the moment and doesn't seem to be any shortage of new owners for them.
