Can anyone tell me where I can purchase large quantities of Panacur 10% liquid? I think this is the best one to give my bitch, having read previous comments, but buying in 100ml bottles is expensive, and I would like to buy 1 litre, but can only see for farm animals.

I buy the 10% in 100ml bottles from hyperdrug at only £14.99 each.  And they don't charge P&P.  If you want something cheaper than that, hopefully Barbara will be on later, I am sure she uses the farm stuff in 1 litres but I don't know where she buys from.

I get mine from Hyperdrug too, but 500ml (£40) or litre (£55), though those quantities are officially for sheep and cattle, but it is the same stuff, but a lot cheaper in larger quantity.

Barbara
Is it exacly the same stuff?  Same dosing as I would normally use for pregnant bitches and pups?

i know its the same stuff, but isnt it stronger? when i looked at it on hyperdrug, it says dosage is 1ml per 13kg of bodyweight

Thankyou, I shall get one litre, I had assumed it was different, I suppose they expect us to think that! Once agin, thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.

It's the same strength but the dosage for the bigger animals is different.  10% is the strength.

It usually has about 2 year shelf life, might be best to ask what the expiry is on current stock before you buy.

If like me you have several dogs or bigger dogs, you will sue up that amount over 12 - 24 months.

I use 100ml just to treat my adults, a litter and a bitch will use up another 150ml so I can get through it, I also let friends and family have it for their dogs at cost.

Thanks Barbara, good idea. I have 6 dogs, so should use quite a bit, and as you say could let others have some, might even be good practice to give some away with puppies?

ah right i get it, so i would give them the same amount as the small animal, 1ml for every kg of body weight

Only to the non-pregnant ones.  Pregnancy dose isn't 1ml per 1kg.

NO NO.  In pregnancy is it 0.25ml per kg, so a 20kg bitch would get 5ml per day, not 20!!!!  We are talking the 10% strength not the 2.5%.

Dosage rates for Panacur 10% suspension for dogs.

Puppies under 6 months 0.5ml per kg bodyweight dosed over 3 consecutive days.
Adult dogs 1ml per kg bodyweight single dose.
Pregnant bitches 0.25ml per kg bodyweight daily from day 40 to 2 days post whelping
