
Hi joanne 1000, I have a Cascada jacket from Paramo that is perfect, not cheap but will last forever--very lightweight, waterproof (unless you plan to stand in driving rain for an hour or two), wicks moisture away from your body and is always warm. http://www.paramo.co.ukFootwear: depends what you want! I swear by Inov-8 because they are incredibly light, amazingly durable and have great traction--if you wear a pair of 3 season boots on a long trek your legs will feel the difference.
http://www.inov-8.comI use them for most of the year--when I was fitter (and didn't have young dogs :O!) I used to do the 3 peaks several times a year and having light shoes is a blessing. I only switch when life gets gruesomely muddy (a pair of Hunter Sovereigns) or snowy/icy (Meindl Burma).
