Topic Dog Boards / Health / Propalin Syrup Replacement
- By Ben_and_Millie [gb] Date 28.07.10 20:24 UTC
I have a 7 year old New Zealand Collie and after she was spayed last year she recently became incontinent, it is not all the time and she can go months without any accidents. I have tried Propalin Syrup but as it is expensive to get a prescription and I would rather not use a prescription drug I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on other products e.g. Herbal teas etc. as I have heard they're can be some very effective alternatives.

Many Thanks,

Ben

I have used cranberry juice tipped into drinking water. Dont know whether coincidence, but 12yr old spayed bitch stopped wetting. have used twice. I use the "light version". I  stop when no more wetting. I am sure there must be cranberry + maybe r.aspberry tea bags one could use. Hadn't thought of trying herbal tea.Did you take urine sample? could be urinary tract infection?Had another spayed bitch who became incontinent;luckily vet I had then didn't immediately prescribe stilboestrol, which was used at that time. Urine checked and she had infection,so course of synulox was appropriate. Hope she o.k.Freja.
