Thanks for the replies, I think I'm going to get some :).
Re the responses regarding building up immunity and not keeping the puppies in a too-sterile environment, I would say I do agree... to a certain point. I have another dog who goes out into the community daily, meeting/playing with other dogs. He has access to the kitchen which is off my puppy room. The pups are also allowed to run about in the kitchen. Also, their mum was having short walks out and about at around 2 weeks and there is no way I'd let her back in with the pups without giving her a wipe over.
I must admit though, the vet did come in to check mum/pups over at 24 hours and he did step right into the whelping box - with his shoes on! Now I almost had a heart attack!! What if he had a dog with Parvo into the vets? My mind was going at 100 miles an hour the whole time he was at our house. Needless to say when he left, the vetbed was put in the washing machine!!
Our pups will spend quite a lot of time outdoors when they're older weather permitting, and there's not much chance of disinfecting grass...lol! Mind you, the puppy room, although tiled, did start to smell a bit after a few weeks. Bleached water soon sorted that out, but the pups couldn't come back in until it had dried.
I just want to find a pet friendly do-all cleaner/disinfectant which will do the all-round job...
