I have just had my insurance renewal in the post for my dogs cover. I'm with one of the bigger animal focused companies and have no problem with regard to price or payouts. They have given me excellent cover.
However, in checking the (very) small print in the what isn't covered section it states- 'Any claim where your pet is working. For example, if your pet is being used for, or being trained for showing, commercial use, guarding, security, farming, hunting, racing etc'.
So does this mean that god forbid my dog was taken ill in a show gorund, or is attacked at ring craft I have no cover, but if taken ill in a field, or attacked on a beach I am. It doesn't make sense to me!
Anyway, just wanted to give people the heads up as I hadn't noticed that before.
