Topic Other Boards / Foo / Recipe for St Clements cake?

Wondered if anyone one had a tried and tested recipe for St Clements cake (aka Orange and lemon)?

I have to bake this on Monday evening for Tuesday...
I see the hairy bikers have one up on the web.

But am unsure whats the best one to try...
So any reccommendations gratefully received :)

I've only ever made on sort of spur of the moment, making a cake and decided to do a St. Clements, so did an ordinary Wictoria Sandwich type mix, but added the grated rind of an orange and a splash of orange essence.  Then sandwiched it together with lemon curd instead of jam, and made the icing up using lemon curd instead of water - it is a bit thicker so you get more of a frosting type appearance, but vey tasty,  if I was dointg it again for more or an occasions I think I woudl candy some twirls of arange and lemon peel to decorate the top.

I have one which is a standard cake mix (victoria sandwich type) then you add orange juice instead of other fluid
and orange zest and lemon zest than after putting it in the tin add 2 or 3 tablespoons of lemon curd and kind of swirl it around in the mixture then into the oven. After cooking drizzle a syrup of melted sugar and lemon/orange juice.
I have also done this with lime juice. Oops just noticed you wanted it for Friday  !
