There is a group on FB where people have uploaded pictures. It normally entails bodily parts hanging out or some of the worst outfits ever.

I just wondered if anyone on here has ever encountered a case where the DSFP need to of had a word with a handler!!?? And if so what for..

Just for a bit of fun :-D

I personally believe people should wear what they like as long as they are not indecent or filthy.  (bit of dog hair doesn't count ;) )

Dogs shows are about the dogs not the handler.  I know some say ti is a team, (too much emphasis by some is placed on performance and presentation rather than basic structure and type) but to hell with the owners dress sense.

Maybe I am lucky that in my breed Clean Casual with maybe a suit jacket if you wish is the norm. so no extremes either way.

Me too, but i've seen a handler who was wearing a halter neck top where she was literally hanging out of it, worse when she bent over and also wasn't very long so never met the tops of her trousers she was wearing.. All this at our big dog show!! ...lol..That to me is not nice, no one wants to see a female looking like that...

If you notice the handler - the dog isn't exactly knocking your eye out.

Yes, I went to a show where a tall and skinny older male handler was wearing a smart red blazer and trousers, the trousers were too tight, which was evident when he continually bent to groom his dogs, which were, unfortunately quite short.  He didn't bend from the knees, and seemed to enjoy exposing the posterior view to all and sundry sat on the sidelines, it wasn't pretty, I did feel a bit queasy at one point.

I agree! I may not have been in the show ring for as long as some but I do believe the handler should be smart wearing a colour to compliment the dog they are exhibiting. It is after all, a dog show and not a fashion show.

Think that clothing that expose naked bits of the anatomy are not nice in the show ring, usually those offending are the handlers but did see a judge once whose dress can only be described as interesting if brief.

Personally I find gents in vests not nice also short shorts with ladies skirts that lack modesty and low cut tops on the amply endowed. And do you remember when all junior handlers clumped round the ring is heavy platform shoes, OK outside but in a sports hall enough to scare the Gods never mind the exhibits.

As Brainless said our breed seem to favour smart casual and in general most hound people seem to adopt the same type of clothes, mind you I have seen kilts, plus fours and stock coats but have no objection except it can distract from watching the dogs particularly the kilt.

Love the woman dressed as the sparkly disco ball. Also check out the shoes on the woman with the tartan trousers!!! Ankle snappers for sure. How she gets round the ring I'll never know, good job she has a small dog.

Older larger women with little dogs who bend down and show everything!!!

I'm one of the members on that page LOL!

Particularly if the little dog happens to be a Yorkshire Terrier - a view from the rings side of a row of red boxes and pink knickers is memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Some judges we have had over the past few years (who should know better) could do with the clothes police slapping cuffs on them.  Large clumpy bracelets with charms on that get caught in the dogs coat.  Ditto large golf ball sized rings.  Stiletto heels that they teeter around on (Crufts) and nearly fall over off balance trying to bend down to go over the dogs.  Enough perfume and hair spray to kill an army (and that applies to the men too)!  Long flouncy skirts that tickle the dogs feet when the judge is bending over them.

Oh and glancing across to the Afghan ring a couple of years ago the judge was wearing a very very tight, skimpy dress that showed every detail of underwear, no jacket, cold blustery day, and 5 inch killer heels on grass!!!

At a recent show there was a well built lady wearing extremely tight white shorts with a clear VPL and camel hoof effect from the front. The folloing day she wore equally tight flesh coloured shorts which was worse as from a distance it looked like she nothing on!!Also at the same show a gentleman was wearing shorts with ladies black tights underneath ekkk.

hahahahah i love this post, brings a smile to my face, got to agree though, judges should not wear things that can distract a dog or get caught up in a dogs coat

My sentiments exactly.
Mind you when I am at a show I rarely have pockets so my bait goes into the left hand side of my bra and the poo bags(empty) go into he right side.Wonder what the judge makes of it all LOL.

I do have a couple of friends who wear some pretty awful stuff, I would never say anything though, after all I am hardly the height of fashion myself! :-)
- By WolfieStruppi [gb] Date 22.07.10 09:08 UTC
I saw a trendy chap with low slung jeans bend over his dog to reveal a pink lacy thong. Some time later I saw him in M&S lingerie dept. I'd have thought he was more Ann Summers.
- By peaches1 [gb] Date 22.07.10 16:05 UTC
I am thinking of contacting Gok Wan to come to one of our breed club shows because i don't think even he could put right some of the fashion disasters i see on a regular basis. Always good for a giggle though!! xx
- By WolfieStruppi [gb] Date 22.07.10 17:03 UTC
Gok? Surely not! Wouldn't he make them go naked?
