Hi,

A while ago there was a post about sending shoe boxes to Afghanistan and what to put in them. I've searched and can't find it now but know theres quite a few of you on here that have sent them and have loved ones out there.

My boyfriend is going out in Sept and when I ask what he wants in his shoeboxes he just says "surprise me , whatever you put in will be lovely". I don't want to  press him on the subject as he has enough to think about at the moment so was really hoping you lovely people can help me! :)

What can / can't I put in (I know not choc or aerosol cans) and what little goodies go down well?

No men's magazines (even motoring or sport ones!) that have pictures of scantily-clad women!

No worries there then - he likes history mags and his dr who mag!! :)

How about packets of crisps - they weigh almost nothing and you can put in old favourites as well as new wacky flavours. I used to send little boxes of crisps to friend in the USA who have no idea of the flavours we have, they cost so little to send.

I am always asked for "Sesame Seed Snacks"... ;-)
