Hi , Sorry if this has been asked before on here. I saw at the pet store this week , a product that seemed to be a natural type of rock that you could add to your dogs water bowl , that has the effect that when the dog goes out to wee his urine doesn't make yellow patches on the grass?
Has anyone used these rocks , do they work ? and more importantly can they do any harm to the dog , long term ? I would love to imporove my grass but not to the detriment  of my dogs health ?

dog rocks ,they dilute the urine so it doesnt burn the grass , as far as i know they are very safe and work

I was shown these at a breed Champshow at the weekend. Allegedly they also weaken the strength of the urine and so make coat staining lighter and easier to manage. I haven't used them though so can't say first hand

I too thought about using these but decided against it. When asked, our vet suggested that it was not a good idea to add anything to their drinking water long term, especialy when ours suffered from occassional colitis at the time. Have also tried tomatoes & cider vinegar with no success. Also if I remember correctly when you place the rocks in their drinking water it tells you to top up the water rather than replace, something I couldn't do with two large very drooly dogs.
