That is what I have been doing today and it is soooooooooooo much fun!
My scooter arrived last night and my kind and lovely OH put it together for me so I could have a go scooting up and down the lane in my dressing gown :)

This morning was spent digging through the dog box looking for a harness so I could have a 'quick go' before my x back one comes, found the ruffwear panniers had a clip in the best position so popped it on Vic and clipped him to the scooter. At first he wouldn't pull, I suppose because I've spent two years teaching him not to pull, but my OH helped out again by running ahead shouting 'go go!'.

He picked it up really quickly and we took a spin down the lane to the farm and back, can't wait for my 'proper' stuff to arrive now because we both loved it! The farmer saw us trundling along and looked both puzzled and delighted.
Does anyone on here do this and if so any tips?

Excellent fun, we had a go at a show once, I had my two Setter boys pulling me :)

I do bikejoring which is similar, I would recommend you teach directions (left/right) it helps - especially if the dog is going at speed ;)

Lol, it was your mentioning of bikejoring on the canicross thread that led me to my dog scootering discovery, so thank you very much! Vic knows left and right when doing heelwork, and he did go left when I asked him to today but I think it was coincidence :)

That is why i've never taken my boys out blading before(can envisage a nasty case of doing the splits!) and very wary of even one doing canix

Scooters are so much fun,try it with 2 fully grown Malamutes.Like a white knuckle ride at Alton Towers.(all my commands whent out of the window just lots of screaming and swearing)However I am no teen anymore and having fallen off a few times now resort to a 3 wheel rig.
One word of warning though.Please watch the temperature particuarlly the humidity.Go out early morning and late evening and if too hot then don't use it.I rarley use mine this time of the year as even on cloudy days it gets too hot.

Thanks for the reminder, I live up a mountain in mid wales and it's been pouring for the past week, but as you say it still gets pretty humid.

Yep loads of good walks, all the D of E'ers are coming past this week, so I've been picking up lots of sweetie wrappers and discarded pop bottles, norty teenagers! The nearest park has lots of trails just for mountain bikers  too so I might go over there as well because it is completely dead after 7 o clock. I'm resisting having another go though till the proper harness and towline kit arrives now, don't want to cripple poor Vic.

I scooter with my 3 (have run 3 together a few times but 2 dogs is a bit safer!) I have some vids on youtube just put pelenrise in the search box.

Its a very addictive sport though!

Cool videos, my fave is the one handed riding while holding the camera, the dogs seem so excited to get started!

Ive never heard of scootering or bikejoring, Ive looked at the Youtube vids and it looks fantastic fun.  Dont think I could do it with a Cavalier, but where do you get the scooters from?

I googled scooter 20" inch wheels, mission and pawtrekker seem to be favourites but start at about 145. Since I wasn't sure if me and the dog would like it i bought a £50 "no fear" brand one, it looks exactly the same but it has calliper brakes rather than disc brakes so no where near as safe, lol.
