Hi - has anyone had any experiences good or bad on either Vitalin Bitch Diet or Royal Canin HT42.
My girl missed on her last mating so this time looking to give her the best start.
She is being fed RC Giant Adult right now.
Been reading up on HT42 and the first ingredient worries me a bit. I have always looked out for meat being first ingredient?
For those who do change feed - when do you start to change the diet over? I know RC says start day 1 of heat.

RC HT42D

Hi,

I used the Vitalin bitch diet for my bitch - shes on Vitalin adult anyway. I cant comment on the RC one you mention as I havent used it. I was really pleased with the Vitalin one and will definately be using if for the next litter. I gradually changed her on to it approximately 6 weeks before season started and kept her on it all thru pregnancy and whilst she fed the puppies. I would think if you are going to change her on to the Vitalin one from RC do it well in advance of her season so that she has no upsets at the crucial time.

Thanks Mooster, I must admit, I am a little skeptical but after missing last time I am willing to try anything.
Vitalin were very quick in sending samples out to me, she loved it so we have a bag on order. :)
Thanks very much for your reply.
