Can I ask what bedding you use for your dogs. Have used fleece covered bedding (man made fibre filling) with vet bed on top but am begining to think especially during summer months that it is too warm - both suffer from yeasty skin. As it is, I change the bedding every morning as even during coldest months the fleece is damp in the morning -so air and rotate daily. Do you think bean/ball filled bedding is cooler. Have also bought memory foam which I have cut to fit baskets, as one suffer badly from joints and arthritis - suggestions please?

For some of mine (non-chewers) I use single duvets folded in two with cotton duvet covers from supermarkets @ £3-4 cooler than vetbed or fleece.

I use Wipe Clean Tuffies mainly.  My allergic boy has one in his crate which I sling a cotton towel over.  He uses the towel variously as a cover/pillow/scrunch thing, depending on his mood.  I have used towelling cot sheets too but he prefers something he can move!

I have Orvis cotton canvas covers on the Tuffies in the living areas.  I also have an Orvis memory foam bed in the hall which they use quite often.

One of my dogs has a dog duvet thingy in his bed which he adores - looks like the princess and the pea bed, as we bunged it on top of another waterproof pad and a spare pillow :)  His is a bit hot and can get whiffy more quickly

My utility room smells like a boys locker room each morning, summer or winter.  The advantage of a Tuffie is that they don't hold the smell and the towels can easily be aired or washed.  I know plenty of dogs that are happy without covers but mine are peculiar...

I did do the same and sometimes I do try it again(In Hope) but they pull the stuffing out even with a cover on :-(.
Other than that vetbed, fleeces etc, but in the warm weather they prefer the cold tiles.

I just use thick vetbed.  More pieces than dogs are in use at any one time.  They like to carry them about and scrape them into a perfect bed.  I found the oldest one wants to rule any bed they've had so that it becomes a source of friction, yet she is't at all selfish with the vet beds    With the vet beds they alter how they use them according to the weather :)

I have the plastic ferplast dog beds - easy to scrub and clean.  Then I throw in a doggie duvet.  I have far more covers than duvets, so I'm always changing covers for them.

I buy my duvets and spare covers from Cosipet, and have gradually invested in the waterproof covers (still with a cotton cover on top.)

I have one Bearded Collie that gets all excited when she sees I am putting a clean cover on her duvet.  She immediately scrunches it up at the front of her bed, and lies behind it on the bare bed!

Is it real vet bedding?  if not I would buy the real vet bed gold with the Permafresh fibre.  I have never had problem with this in hot or cold weather.

Petlife are the manufacturers of real vet bedding.

I use the non ruck whelping mats from our dog as bedding. Easily washed and tumble dried and look good for years.

I use dog hammocks. They are really cool in the summer and away from draughts in the winter.
My youngster has allergies too and they are easy to wash down and keep him off the carpet. I even have them in the garden so that he doesn't have to lie on the grass. They pack really small and are great when travelling or camping.

Mine both have the vet bed too.
It is light and warm and cosy too,it washes and dries really easily, and as my dogs also 'muck about' with it and any other bedding they have had, it works out the best, they share a large plastic dog bed and have lots of bits for it and the car cage.

We have leather bean bags and they love them, even the huge coated Leo.

I recently had to get a new one since dexter decided the filling of the cushion looks better when it's all over the floor... so i got one of the scruffs expedition beds for them. It's hardwearing, water and dirt resistant and washable. Apart from that I also have fleece blankets but I don't really like them as they collect all the hair and just look a bit scruffy, even washing and hoovering it regularly doesn't wash the hairs etc off. I used to have a nice sheepskin for Penny when she was little but she tried to rip out all of the wool so that's a no no...I can't use anything that looks like teddy fur or so, they will just wreck it...

I have two dog beds from costco, the outer unzips and i just shove it in the wash when it is dirty and as it is waterproof the inner stays nice and dry.  I think they were about £20 - bargain in my view.
