For those of you who may be looking for something to cool your doggies down in this heat I have just bought a Homebase Air Cooler model 630691.  It has proved to be very usefull and works very well. I am sitting in a nice cool office and it is baking outside. It runs from a normal power socket and needs no hose to a window, you can make the water cooler by adding ice or freezer blocks to really cool the air down. At £79.99 I consider it to be a bargin and easy to use and it is on casters so wheels from room to room with ease.

PS Just to say there are no moving parts on the outside for wavey tails to catch in either...a bonus for me with hairy tailed dogs!!

Yes it is.

The ones with hoses are a pain. My (oldish) Homebase unit has a ridiculously short power lead and hose. At present the hose is wedged out the back door (wont reach the window) but to be fair it's doing a reasonable job considering I've got the oven on!
