How easy is it to register an ISDS registered puppy with the kc, and how do i go about doing it?
Thanks

I am not sure that you can unless you mean the activities register. I assume that if both parents were registered with the KC and the pup is still in the breeders name then they could do it before transferring the pup to you, if you are the breeder then there should be no problem if the sire and dam are registered, but I am not at all sure.

Its very easy just fill in a form 9 on Kennel Club site. This entitles any ISDS reg pup to full breed registration.  I always send a photo copy of the pink registation form from the ISDS and a copy of any other certificates ie puppy eye test litter certificate, Parents Hip scores and DNA results if avalable. At least you can get away with having a simple working name as on ISDS certificate instead of having to think up something silly and gushy it will remain a proper collie.I have done this with many adult dogs and puppies from my working farm/trial collies

I wonder why you can regster a dog/puppy if the dam is ISDS registered and the sire KC registered but not the other way round?
This is from the KC application form

APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF A BORDER COLLIE WHICH:-
A. Is already registered with the ISDS
or
B. Has both parents registered with the ISDS
or
C. Has the dam registered with the ISDS and the sire with the Kennel Club

Em! from that it would appear not but it may well be a bit of poor rule writing, an e-mail or phone call should sort it. I think as long as both parents are registered it should be OK but the KC is a law unto it's self.

no idea about the sire/dam thing, that's very odd.  Yes if your pup is ISDS just fill the form in, pick another word to make a 2 word name and you should be ok.  If you have an affix that, I think can be the other word...so Shep of .... or shep something would do.  They have a slightly different numbering (so will be 1 number shorter than others).  My Cody was from dual reg sire and ISDS dam - he was ISDS so no problems :-)
