Topic Other Boards / Foo / favourite tipple?
- By WolfieStruppi [gb] Date 30.06.10 18:16 UTC
I was given a bottle of wine from Macedonia. It was like nectar! I googled the label & it's available in Aldi stores in Europe at the costly sum of 1 euro 49!! (so I'm easily pleased then).

What's your favourite wine/tipple?

My favourite tipple is Yorkshire Tea - you can't beat a cuppa , nice and strong like builder's tea !!!!

My fav has to be Morgans Spiced and coke.
Tastes like caramel mmmmmmm!!!
Or Sailor Jerry's with lemonade and lime. :-)

Don't go out, so haven't had a drink in years.  But I am not overly fond of the taste of alcohol.  As long as it tastes like pop, I can manage it.

I did find once though, that my liking for pop tasting drinks, made me feel as if someone had taken the bones out of my legs!

I just couldn't stand!

The nectar is Southern Comfort, dash of lime, served in a long glass with ice and Canada Dry.  You can drink a surprising amount if you like the taste of pop!  :-)  :-)

Pimms and Ice at the moment, lots of fruit, so I am getting one of my "five a day", if I want to be really healthy I will have another glass..........

You might like sloe gin then :-) Bit like a raspberry cordial. Don't drink it as such though, fatal :-(
- By Chrissy [gb] Date 01.07.10 10:51 UTC
You mean you drink it by the glass?  I usually make a jugfull - saves going back into the kitchen!
- By newf3 [gb] Date 01.07.10 11:22 UTC
vodka and diet coke or a cup of tea.
- By Tarimoor [gb] Date 01.07.10 11:32 UTC
Well I make up for all the tee-totallers then!

I like all of them, nice beers, proper lagers, white wine, rose, red (particularly a nice rioja), and I love spirits, the only drinks I don't like are cider and vodka (unless it's been doctored, adding fruit to give it a nice flavour).

I make different things in the winter, like bramble brandy, black currant vodka, raspberry vodka, bilberry vodka (lots of flavoured vodka) and damson gin.  Then once I've strained the liquid off, I use the fruit in deserts or make something called fruit cheese, which you can slice and have with cheese and crackers, none of it goes to waste!  And, btw, I don't drink all of it, I give lots of it away as presents ;)

If I was pushed, I'd say a nice whiskey or bourbon, nothing better on a cold winter evening to have a drop of good whiskey!

I'm with you SleepingLion although I don't really like beers and lagers. I love a nice dry white wine, Pinot Grigio, Sauvingon Blanc etc. But my favourite spirit has to be Jameson Irish whiskey!
- By Tarimoor [gb] Date 01.07.10 11:54 UTC
Ya see I'd go for the Blackbush, and for Scottish it'd have to be a nice Ardbeg or a lighter Edradour.  I like the big flavours!  The unfortunate thing is, I never suffer from hangovers, so I never get put off having another glass the next evening *sigh* - the amount of hours I have to work for beer and dog food tokens!
- By Sawheaties [gb] Date 01.07.10 12:45 UTC
I am buying the cans of Pimms so it makes me be good, it's better to drink a can than a jugful ( apparently!!)
- By joanne 1000 [gb] Date 01.07.10 13:15 UTC

I love Yorkshire tea............
I love Bacardi and coke................
Currently I have been loving lager and limes, they go well with the hot weather and the footie.
Love Guiness, love red wines.
Most of the above doesn't think much of me though the tea is okay, I am prone to frequent migraine and these sometimes trigger with alcohol.

Karen :)
eta Sloe gin is fab and always welcome.

Good selection!

I've seen 2 quotes that make me smile:

1) "I like cooking with wine: sometimes I even put it in the food"
2) " I drink champagne when I'm happy, or sad, or alone, or have company..otherwise I never touch it unless I'm thirsty".
