Wondered if any of you helpful people could help  with some decisions on worming and flea treatments.

In the past I've always used a combination of drontal and frontline, but I'm concerned with the increase of lungworm in the area (south east england) I know of a couple of local dogs effected last year.
So far I've treated my 6mth old pup with drontal. She's due for another worming now and as spring is here I'll start flea/tick preventative too.

Her breeder used Advantage I think, which covers worms (except tapeworm) fleas, ear mites, mange and ticks. So that would cover most things with one dose. But then should I use something else for tapeworm as well?

From your description the product that your breeder used is unlikely to be Advantage, as this would not cover Lungworm or mites. Its most likely to have been Advocate from your description (although this doesn't actually cover Ticks)

Although Lungworm appears to be still low in its prevelance compared to other worms, the risk in certain areas of the country are higher, e.g. South East England.

If your dog is very unfortunate to pick up Lungoworm then Advocate will help treat it, if used regularly. As you have pointed out it is really important to also treat for the more common worms that Advocate doesnt cover, e.g. Tapeworm. So using a good wormer such as Drontal Plus or Cestem (contains the same drugs but is substantially cheaper) that covers tapeworms along side Advocate is a good idea.

My GSD had mild lungworm about 18 months ago and I have been using Advocate on him.
Kemist obviously knows what he is talking about but rather than use Drontal etc which is 'double-dosing' against a bunch of parasites I was told to use Droncit tabs which ONLY do tapeworms,

Thanks for the reply.

After a chat with the vet I've ended up giving her milbemax but monthly, rather than every 3 months. Lungworm was a concern, as we are in the South East and I know of a few cases in this area. She's also one for eating revolting things when out.
