Does anyone have this cover for their dog?

I have always used petplan but after the cost of my last litter due to losing mum and having sick puppies am wondering if I would be better off using the new KC one.

How good are they customer service wise and do they payout on claims with hassle. One of my dogs I insured with Petplan and 5 days later she ruptured a cruciate and they paid out which surprised me...I know they say they will for accidents but really didn't expect the money back because of only having it for 5 days.

The insurance of course would not only be there for whelping etc as am looking to insure the new pups.

Any opinions on the KC insurance would be great!!!

I have insured my latest puppy with the KC and most likely will upgrade to include the breeder option if we are lucky enough to go down that route.

Their prices and cover seemed in line with their competitors.

I looked into their breeder insurance but it is on top of not in place of regular insurance so a huge hike in premiums. I didn't bother.

Have rung KC and asked for 2 quotes one for a pup and one for a dog aged 14 months. The quotes are cheaper than Petplan and the older dog policy with the breeding supplement added is only £5 more a month so I think well worth it.

Think we will give them a go, pup is only 12 weeks at the moment anyhow and of course may never be bred from.

Gosh that is a huge change. It was to be an extra £25 per month per dog when I called last year but the breeders bit only covered ashort period between mating and up to something like 10 weeks post birth from memory.

Maybe it will go up next year when she is older she is only 14 months old at present so won't be bred for some time.
