I'm having a go at making Elderflower Fizz and Elderflower cordial for the first time and the recipe says I need citric acid. Can I buy this at any supermarket or do I need to go to one of those specialist shops? Thought i'd ask on here before I go trawling round with no success!
Thanks , Kate

Supermarkets
might have it in the home baking section, but I bought some at Boots.
I got mine in the chemists.

Or from a homebrew supplier - winemaking
It's a chemist only product. It used to be on the shelves at Tesco but they removed it due to 'improper use' - I can't remember exactly why! - but they now sell it on the pharmacy counter, although not to minors.

You can buy it at Wilkinsons, but will have to ask the staff for it. Apparently it can be used for dubious purposes
Intravenous drug users use it to mix with their drugs, ( it does nothing to enhance the effect of the drugs), I can't imagine what damage it does to their veins.
