I've seen this before on another forum. Its very clever, but I'm appalled that people seem to think its of to use a dog as a fashion accessory. :-(

It's a bit too close to abuse for me. If people want cuddly colourful toys, there are millions of them to choose from that look just like those poor dogs. Why on earth subject a dog to that degrading cruelty? Horrible.

Its huge in America, dying dogs fur, especially poodles.. if you google it you'll get many sights i'm sure.
Its seen as some form of artwork, i guess it is in one way but at the expense of a dog??
I'm sure something like this has cropped up on here before..

I've already seen pictures of chi's with diamond earings - i hope they were magnetic but i wouldn't put it past some people .
What dignity do those dogs have ?

If they are using the right sort of dye it's not harming the dogs, and the dog doesn't care it looks daft, but it's not something I'd like to see catch on over here! Our college used to have a standard poodle they dyed pink for the open day, goodness knows why!!

Yes, I've seen photos of poodles made up to look like anything but a dog. I think it's degrading to people and animals--IMO it's one thing if we want to  dye ourselves the colours of the rainbow, but quite another to do this to an animal. Perhaps there is a case for an 'ethical groomers' association...doing what's in the dog's best interests first, not just pandering to a silly owner's whim? Maybe an article for the new Pro Groom magazine???

Yes suejaw I think you're right - I'm fairly sure it was a friend of a 'renowned poodle artist'.  I inadvertantly found myself eyeball to eyeball on screen with a Poodle Ninja Turtle, took me hours to recover !  :)

It says in one article I read about this  the dyes they are using in Asia are carcinogenic...which means they are being cruel.
