hi!I have a bay window and jess and the cats love to sit in it and sleep,or watch the world go by,and I really dont mind,as they dont cause any trouble. However, the slats in my venetian blinds occasionally get broken, due to a bit of noseying or fly chasing.Theyre only cheap argos ones, and I fix them with spare slats,so its not really aproblem, but it can get a pain as its fiddly. So has anyone any bright ideas what else I could have at the windows for privacy(its a terrace and fronts on to the pavement)I thought of nets but the kittens would shred them.A row of plants would get knocked over, eaten or worse!got to be fairly cheap as im permanently broke!Im at a complete loss,so no worries if you cant help!thanks!

you can get that stick on stuff that makes windows appear to be made of frosted glass, right fiddle to put up but cat proof!

Not cheap, but should last a fair while, wooden shutters? These could just be the bottom half of the window. The really expensive ones can have open and closing shutters or you could do as I did and make some out of kitchen louvre doors, readily available in places such as B&Q. It really depends on how much light/privacy you want.

sounds good!Have you any experience of this stick on stuff, would you know if it comes off easily, should you get fed up,or make a pigs ear of putting it on?I suppose b n q or similar might have both that and shutters,Il go and have a look, thankyou! Now can you sort out my two kits dancing on my bed all night!!!- -!

I've only used it once-on an outhouse window that overlooks a neighbours garden.  it came out fine but i've not tried to remove it so really wouldn't have a clue how hard to remove!  can only sugguest you maybe try a little piece on say a shed window or an old mirror or similar to see if you happy with effect.
it was very cheap-got it off ebay years ago and i think was less then £5 for fair sized roll of the stuff.

why not replace your blind but roll them up during the day.

I have vertical blinds in the kitch my cats sit on the window sills and but their noses through them definitly doesnt stop fly swotting and birdwatching but gives privacy when needed

I have this on my front room windows. It's very easy to put up - it sticks on with static, all you need is a squirty spray bottle of water and a squeegee thingy. And good scissors & a tape measure. Comes off very easily. One roll didn't quite do both windows so one is slightly patchwork but it's not that obvious from outside. It's about £10 a roll from B&Q or Wilkinsons.

thanks, that does sound exactly what i need!I have the most likely to be damaged blind half rolled up at the mo,but Im a bit paranoid about people glancing in,and ive also caught kids in the act of tormenting jess(who just looked, didnt react to the "roars"and raised arms)so I only do that when Im in.Thankyou, everybody!

We use stuff at my work that makes the glass one way. Its stick on and gives a mirrored effect on the outside so you can't see in but you can still see out perfectly - its really good but one roll was put on the wrong way which meant you couldn't see out but everyone could see in!

Where can you get the one way stuff - that sounds just what I need

Not sure where my work get it but if you Google One Way glass film a number of suppliers come up. The stuff we use looks like the grey one  here
