You need to know what health checks are standard in Yorkies and ensure both parents have been tested and that the results are OK.

We have a couple of Yorkie people on here who will be able to tell you what are the normal checks and what to ask about a puppy yorkie. I'm sure someone will give you more detail

Lynsey - don't beat yourself up - we all learn, and that's all you are doing. 8 years ago we didn't have the internet like we do now. That has opened up doors to information that we never knew existed. What matters is that you are trying to do the right thing. Good luck to you.

I don't think hips are a problem in a small breed like Yorkies - but I'm nor a Yorkie person so please don't take it as so.
