Right a new post as i'm trying to find somewhere not too far away from me(Sussex Coast) that does this under sedation only and its not a huge cost.

My local vets charge £350 and they don't like to do it under sedation.

I have found a place called LakeView in Kent, they are a vets but not heard of them and wondered if anyone can recommend them?

I may just have to go to Dorchester at this rate, but wondered as Marilyn still won't do large/giant breeds at this time.. Who knows when she will be able to to and not going to sit around and wait for her now.

Just called Southfields, Dorchester and they charge £147.50 for the xrays and £80 to go off to the BVA

O'Gorman Slater, Newbury charge £76.14 for sedation, £109.10 for the xrays and then £94.00 to go to the BVA

How can the charges be so different? Also the BVA should be the same regardless, hmmm..

I too need a hip and elbow scoring! both my vets I use only do it under GA, so now at a loss, I will be watching this thread with interest :)

I don't know what breed you are but Marilyn did 3 of my 30 kg gundog breed bitches 6 weeks ago.

I called her last week and I have Bernese the same as Gemini and she won't do them yet :-(

my HWV breeder arranged for him to go to a vet(woman) at dorchester under seadation, i can get her details if you want? it was £100 (hips)

Hi Sam that's the one at Southfields which i've mentioned above and others on here have said good things about them too. I think its where i may end up unless something else pops up..

I was told there maybe someone in Guildford who does them, will chase that up tomorrow.

where in guildford that where i am the only one i know off is a top orthpa vet.

I'm not sure as yet, was passed a number from a lady with Labs for a lady with Labs who has used someone in Guildford who uses sedation. So we'll see what happens when i call up..
I'll let you all know though.

I've had my dogs hip and elbow scored at both Marilyns and Verity's - Dorchester vets although no real complaints Dorchester wins hands down and I now recommend everyone there.  Very professional, quick service and results back in less than 3 weeks with a phonecall from the vet herself.

They are charging under sedation £250 for hips and elbows and then £80 BVA fee..

im not sure of practise name but vet was called verity if thats the same one?
