I'm doing ok, and asked why I'm winning as not done it long enough.  I know a lot of dogs go through on merit but in my breed it is quite the opposite.  Yes some dogs are correctly placed and  other its because they're under their friends.  only a few months ago, a dog was made champ, they travel together. i say no more.

i've made my girl up to RCC, which is good for a first timer and took some doing.  i can honestly say i've not made enough 'friends' to warent it being other than a good win the same as others have won.

There are a lot of good dogs that get missed.  Such is life as they say.  i could write a novel on what i've observered in MY BREED and no others.

The thing is unless your very antisocial by the time you have been in a breed for more than five minutes you will become friends with people in the bred, especially with those with a similar tastes and bloodlines.

People will enter under judges they know like the type of their exhibit as they know what the judges like having observed their judging or known their bloodlines and their interpretation of the standard.

I have often travelled with fellow exhibitors to shows, socialised with fellow exhibitors who are often the next shows judges, and of course used other peoples stud dogs.

I have had a third CC on my first champion from my mentor and friend.  She has 10 a good mix of all rounder and breed specialists.

I have also shown two exhibts under two other judges who I knew admired them, but did not do well as on one occasion one was out of coat, lack lustre anther time, and recently a youngster of mine just messed about and lost out.

Have you gone over these dogs to see if there are any problems that are not clear to the eye, such as mouths etc?

A while back I asked for this thread to get back on topic and it's now veered off again into a totally different area - discussions about showing & "face" judging should be on the Showing board not here ;-) As it seems impossible to keep this thread on topic, it's probably best to close it now.
