We have a couple of threads on the board at the moment in a similar vein but I really think this takes the biscuit.
Last year I had an enquiry from a European lady living in a part of this country. She wanted a puppy from me but lived in a flat and I just wasn't happy that this pup would be being bought for the right reasons and was alerted by a friend that she was advertising that a puppy was being bought from me which I had never promised her.  I have noticed that she now has a website advertising that she did get a puppy (from someone else) born in February this year and that puppies would be due 2011!!!. Today I have had an enquiry for my boy at stud from her. For goodness sake! the pup is 4 months old! I believe she hasn't realised that I know what she is up to and doesn't realise that I do do my homework.

We had a problem a few years ago with a lady trying to get her hands on puppies. Fortunately we are a numerically small breed and managed to warn everyone about her.

We also had a lady phoning breeders once she knew they had puppies and tried to book one, only to offer the pup up for resale a few months later because her daughter was allergic to the pup. :-( She did manage to get her hands on a few before word got around. What did she think? Did she honestly think that her daughter wouldn't be allergic to the next pup? That's if she truly did have a daughter......

LindyLou, in rescue we call them serial-rehomers and we warn each other but sadly there are too many rescues that do not HC or listen and so these people are being *fed* with new dogs over and over again. It seems to be almost a mental disorder. One lady managed to "adopt" 12 dogs in one year, she returned 2 to the rescues as their paperwprk (like mine) demands that the dog cannot be given to a thrid party. No one knows what happened to the other 10 :(.

Its really sad. There was one woman who went through a large amount of puppies and when they reached the the end of puppy-hood she would sell them on, through any means.
I found out that she was trying to sell one of my breed, she even offered it to me - half price?? Grrr  I was not happy about this... I got through to someone in the breed club and they dealt with it and got the pup into breed rescue and i hear she is living a lovely life now :-)

The reason for getting puppies is that her son loves them. Her reason for getting rid of them is because she is left to walk them and has a bad back :-( and hence can't cope with them.. They've only ever had large breed dogs as well.
