Just been browsing southern counties results , apparently all 3 placings of PG dog in great danes were witheld, i am glad some judges are taking a stand , hasten to add this isnt my breed but i have friends that are.

I don't know if this judge is from the continent? I have noticed that non UK judges don't seem to have much of an issue in doing this, compared to our UK judges, or maybe that's just me.

I'm still waiting for some more results to be uploaded and there appear to me some missing from the Rott's.

My breed have finished judging and I hope the BOB who is a gorgeous boy does well in the group.

Very brave judge!

If only there would be more of it in Dobes!

I was skimming through some of the other Southern Counties results and noticed a limit class with only one entry but awarded a HC This could be a typo as I was under the impression that only the first 3 placed usually withheld and, the dog went on to get the RDCC.  There were other entries in the dogs and non of the other places were withheld so this seems odd!  Again a continental judge.

Think that will be a typo, in the first place you are correct if the first 3 are withheld then no awards can be given. Now even if you withhold class awards you do still have to declare BOB and if required BPIB but as there were others not only present but placed I am almost sure this is an error that is down to who ever is doing the keying.

no suejaw the dane judge was karina la mere she has bred shown and judged dogs in the uk for over 40 years   and gives tickets  in various working breeds

She felt there very poor specimens and told them why she was withholding the places, and gave a verbal critique.
Glad some judges have the guts to do it!!

Ah sorry NN, not heard of her before and stupidly assumed from her name that she was from the continent.. But well done her though on what she did if they weren't good specimens..

> karina la mere

Oh i have been under her at a champ show, didn't know who she was but we won our class & got a good crit........so if she withhold's places then it makes me like our win even more :)

It must be hard on those who were withheld though, i would be mortified :(
