Hi
We are looking to buy a van to go to dog shows, i want a fairly big van with three seats along the front. what do you suggest??

My friend has a Fiat Scudo and that is quite big in the back and has 3 seats in the front.
I've got a VW Caddy van but that would be no good cos its a two seater ;) I think it would be the Transporter that probably has 3 seats.

reautl traciff has three seats in front and come with either one or two side doors.

We have a peugeut Boxer and it has 5 seats.MWB and a hi top,it has plenty of room for dogs, kids and working and showing paraphenalia. Can't miss us as its bright yellow with piccys of our dogs, kennel name and the Cornish flag!!!!

We have a Renault Trafic, it's huge in the back, when we ordered it we had the three seats taken out and replaced with 2, as well as removing the bulkhead. It's ideal for dogs and going to shows.

You can't beat a transit is it's that size van you want :-)

From someone who has contact with many mechanics and people into 'vans' i've been informed that if you want a decent, reliable van - not long base then the VW Transporter is the best by far. Again seats can be your choice as to what you want in it.
I've got a Merc Vito and love it, however, it did prove pretty rubbish in the snow (and mud) as it's rear-wheel drive ... snow socks sorted out the snow! I was lusting after a Vito for about 18 months and questioned everyone at competitions and poked around inside their vans looking at caging set ups. I've had my Vito for a year and am really pleased with it.
I've driven the older style Peugeot Expert and really liked that, though don't like 'barn doors' as you can get awful wet loading dogs into a vehicle :-) Whatever you get, I'd look at having a lift up tailgate as oposed to the barn door type, I don't think you'll regret a tailgate. I've also tried the VW transporter and liked that too ... the plus for winter is it's front-wheel drive. Also test drove a Ford Transit, loved the drive of that, but it was just that bit too big for me.
Agree we have this but my hubby has his converted into a taxi but when he goes too shows with me all the family dogs and the show things all fit in!!
Plus we got stuck in the snow last year and we were alrite!
Thanks for ur posts!
We were having a nosey at peoples vans at Southern Counts today... most people left the boots open in as it was soo hot...
a going to look at a few!

We had a peugeot boxer swb hi roof which was good but we felt quite underpowered for running up and down the country, it was a "52" plate, 1.9hdi, we changed it for a Mercedes Vito 115 Panel Van (Compact) Automatic, it is the 150bhp, 2.2 diesel, we bought it second hand from a merc dealer, it only had 17000 miles on the clock and is an 08 plate and to be honest it is great, I wish I had spent the money in the first place and just bought a merc. It drives like a car and feels as solid as any mercedes car does and having the larger bhp it has good fuel economy most of the vans you see at the shows are the 109 version which is 96bhp with the 2.2 engine which means it is working harder.
