Hi
My bitch was mated just 10 days ago. A week after the mating I noticed alot of discharge ( creamy with a green tinge) so off to the vet. Why whenever there is something important can I not see my own vet!!!
Vet said she obviously had an infection so it was unlikely that she would of conceived and we came away with synulox. Its now 4 days since she has been on the tablets and the discharge is still the same. Im off to the vet tonight with another bitch so will mention it.
Has anyone ever had this and a bitch went on to have a normal pregnancy?
yes i have ,she was given a weeks worth and was fine she had 8 big pups :-) x
Thanx white lilly thats made me feel betta! Its the bitch that missed last time n had that terrible phantom so I hav everythin crossed this time!! Xx

This happened to the mother of my maddie a slight greenish discharge, anti biotics went on to have a healthy litter of 4
I have a bitch due to deliver late next week who has had a simmering infection all the way through. At mating, my partner in this dog insisted she be put on Clavulox for 10 days after mating, just in case she got a bug from mating (I didn't agree!), then we stopped. She dribbled brown for that 10 days. There was no discharge until 10 days ago, then it was slight with a greeny tinge off and on. She was ultrasounded and found to be pregnant. There was also a dead pup in there, which was probably the cause of it all. Her progesterone was tested and it was right down (18). She was put back on Clavulox, progesterone supplement (it's now 180!), and Metonide (to maintain her pregnancy). Last week, it got worse, so she is now on Baytrill (a very strong antibiotic). Since then, she has been well in herself, and getting big, but the slight discharge has continued. We have x-rayed for puppies and she has at least eight! They are very active and growing well, so we are hopeful Zara will deliver normal, healthy pups.
Your dog's discharge is very early on in a pregnancy, so you might be out of luck.

It may be an idea to get a swab done so the vet knows exactly what bacteria he is up against. Some bugs are more susceptable to different antibiotics.
