I am a police dog handler with the Dyfed powys police. At present I have a 6 yr old gsd dog who is due to retire in the next 12 months. I have a problem in that my current GSD struggles to get on with other dogs especially as any new dog will challenge for the alpha male slot. I also have a GSP bitch as a specialist dog and they get on fine. My current GSD will retire at home with me thus I have to find a replacement dog that will be compatible. Our force practises a run-on policy ie a young dog works / trains with your existing dog. Training methods retrieve and praise oriented thus we need a dog with a high praise / retreive drive. We are also looking for a bitch which is quite unusual for the police as their drive tends not to be so good. are you able to point me in the right direction to find such a dog. We take dogs as young as 3 months to 18 months.
Many thanks

Welcome to the forum Andy.
There are so many forces, chasing so few dogs at the moment aren't there. :-) I hope that someone here can help you.
I assume that you have contacted all the usual sources, so won't post *Rescue* details here. In the event that you haven't, email me direct and I will find you some contact numbers.
Good luck
