Years ago we used to be able to get decent tasting Jersey Royal potatoes. I've tried them from two different supermarkets and a farm shop and there was no flavour at all. I don't think my tastebuds have gone into a decline! Are there any decent ones about?

The ones i got recently from M&S I think it was were lovely.. I'll get back to you on that, if i find any locally in any of our farm shops, as I too love potatoes i'll let you know :-)

Never seen Guernsey potatoes Karen. The choice in the farmshop was Jersey or Cornish - will try those next time. Didn't think of M&S Sue will look out for them. If I could get tasty potatoes and runner beans I would become a veggie!

Sorry.....that was a bit tongue in cheek!
A Jersey/Guernsey rivalry thing ;)
But I do prefer the locally available ones top the Jersey royal though. In fact most new potatoes with mint and a huge knob of butter will do.

Karen :)

yep, my local green grocers do a fine line in jersey royals, purple sprouting broccolli, give them a month and they'll probably have samphire in as well!  They also do a great mix of anti pasta......

I must get out more!

I have to say, I rarely buy fresh produce from any supermarket, always try to use the green grocers and butchers first, and then the local co-op or lidl for any other stuff.

ooooo samphire - must remember to go and pick some in the next couple of weeks :)

I grow my own. In bags. Nothing easier than that and I decide what goes in. So no chemicals and other unsavoury things. Love my spuds!

I had some lovely ones from Aldi last week, they were soil covered too so didn't go green in the veg rack.
