Hi, Seeing as you lot seem to go over there so many times for shows, I was wondering if you could help- us??? We are looking at getting to the West of Ireland. We are on the east coast so place to set off from is not a problem Taking car and no dogs. Any ideas??? Lea :) )
The car ferry from Holyhead to Dublin Port is only 3 hours and runs a couple of times every day. Then you're on the main road either to Galway or Limerick depending on what part of the West you're heading to. Its about a 2.5 hour drive depending on traffic. Avoid going to Rosslare as its down in the South East and you'll end up going cross country.
Im also on Uk east coast and going to western Ireland this year so have just booked ferry crossing etc. If you looking for Holyhead-Dublin which IMO is the best route, fastest for the dogs being left and central then take a peak at Holyhead-Dun Laogaire as well - very close to Dublin port but found the prices to be cheaper and crossing times were more convenient.
