flaming heck,whats the world coming too,surely wherever you are from you understand the danger of the sun and that your child is burnt and in pain.I always put factor 50 on my kids as they are pale like me,i have memories of being forced to the beach as a child,i was only allowed suntan lotion for  the first day as my mum said that as i was too pale and looked ill and ugly,god i hated the summer,spending the first few nights sore and burnt and the rest trying to sleep in a damp sheet as i itched so much.I vowed never to do that to my girls and i protect them as much as poss

What I find interesting about this story is that I was brought up in Cyprus (dad in armed forces) and nobody ever got that sun burned, in fact the first time I met another fellow Brit they were so burned they looked like a tomato, unfortunately I think its a bit of a culture thing even though the woman was not British, I find that people who have not been brought up in warmer climes tend to go over the top.

I just can't believe that someone would do that.

But then, there was a case in the local paper a couple of years ago - somebody left their baby in a car in the car park of the a supermarket near me while they went in and did their shopping - on one of the hottest days of the year. I believe they were facing charges....

children dieing in hot cars is not unusual at all unfortunately.
there have been a lot of cases of people just forgetting they where there & going into work for the day
