It is early days as yet would not worry if she gets to 15 months I may take her for a check up but I still would not be worried about it. You could take a look and see if you think she is fully matured in that area but as you have not had the breed before you may not know, what does her breeder say.

Bitches of any breed can come into season as early as 6 months or as late as 24 months, I wouldn't worry at all yet, it is still early days.
the breeder kept a bitch off the same litter and her's hasnt come in yet either, she is quite swollen at her back end but has been for a good few weeks now, lifes much easier with our schnauzers...i know they had seasons every 9 months but as the time goes on you do kinda get to wondering. I will keep a close eye then maybe get it checked out thanks x
Hi Dawn,
I wouldnt be too worried, bassets first season can be all over the place. I have had girls that have had their first season bang on 6 months the majority have been around 7-9 months but I have had bitches who didnt come in until 12/13 months. If you say your girl is looking a bit puffy this could be a good sign...they can stay like that for a few weeks before showing any signs of coming into season so dont be too concerened.

I have a 10month old Golden and no sign of any season yet....my older bitch has just had her second season and she is 3 1/2 but thats quite unusual....she had her first at 19months.
Thought she may of brought pup into season...but nothing as yet...Im not worried it will happen when she is ready like yours.

That is most likely as I had litter siseters that alway came in together
i also have litter sisters and they have seasons 10 weeks apart LOL

I wouldn't consider ever worrying about a 10 month old not having had a season. In my breed they are usually 8 to 10 months old and I would expect some larger breeds to not have reached that level of maturity yet.
