Its a bit of a weird one this but my girl had a litter last September and came into season 4 weeks ago and has definately NOT had a second alone with my boy at all. Both hubby and I were fastidious in keeping them apart. Neither has she been outside in the garden without supervision so it couldn't be a passing romeo. But over the past 4 to 5 days she has gone off her food a bit and lost a couple of kg in weight and has gone fairly quiet and her nipples seem to have stayed a little bit swollen. She isn't looking poor or ill just a bit "mumsy" like she did last time. Has anybody else had experience with their girl acting "mumsy" even though she hasn't been mated. I am planning on getting her scanned just to be absolutely sure as a litter is just completely out of the question this year!!!!!!
Ellie has produced milk twice on non-mated seasons, and once when she was mated but missed. Otherwise luckily she shows no signs of false pregnancy, no nesting or anything. Not a bad idea to get the vet to give her a general check to make sure there's nothing else wrong, but it's probably just a false pregnancy.
Yes I know Lexy - I meant no other signs of false pregnancy, and nothing that makes her upset like nesting or contracting. She doesn't care that she's producing milk! :-D
