Clair,
i've just finished reading what happened to Storm and tears welled up in my eyes. I looked down at my beloved dog(Buddy) and thought how i would feel if that happened to him.
Grief is the price we pay when we love deeply enough.
My thoughts and best wishes are sent to you.

Terribly, terribly sorry for you Clair

Hi Clair my name is Kim and I have just lost my dog whom we had for 11 years. He was a rescue dog and you could not have wished for a more loving dog. He was a collie cross and in the last few months started to have fits. On thursday he had a fit at night and seemed to calm down, but when I came down in the morning he was having another. We rushed him to the vets but his heart gave out and he sadly died.i am still very upset as he was with me all day, a best freind to me and a comfort to me when I was diagnosed has having a serious illness.I know exactley how you are feeling my heart is broken as is yours.I read a artical in a dog magazine and I dont know if this will help you but here it is ' There is nothing of value I have to bequeath exept my love and my faith. These I leave to my master and my mistress, who I know will mourn me most. Now I would ask her for love of me,to have another. It would be a poor tribute to my memory never to have a dog again' this really hit home to me that our lost freinds would not like us to be unhappy. It is still very painfull I know but time is a great healer and I hope you are thinking of the good times. My heart goes out to you.Kim

Thank you Joyce it is some comfort that there are people out there who care and know how people are feeling when you lose a freind. It is so hard to get on with you daily life when little things set you off. I miss my freind so very much.Kim

Oh Kim I'm so sorry about your boy, I know how horrible it must have been and how helpless you must have felt. Time does make things a bit easier. Although we have a Westie and a Cocker Spaniel Storm was special to me, when they have been by your side through thick and thin it's very hard to adjust to being parted from them. When I think about it my whole life has taken a completely different path because of her, I actually would never have met my husband if it wasn't for Storm. I'm sure they are watching over us now, waiting for a new friend to arrive which will not replace them but it will take us on new paths and happier times again.
best wishes
Clair

Thanks Clair, we do have a new comer to our family a puppy Bull Terrier,we have waited a long time for her and it is just so sad that Bob's not here to meet her as I know he would have loved to have her here as he was still young a heart.I hope that she will ease the pain a little for all of us,but as you well understand nothing in this world can replace a lost pet.I do try to think of all the fun we've had but little things just crop up and you get a gut renching feeling knowing that when you look out to the garden he wont be there looking to come in to get as close to the fire as poss, but must keep our chins up life has to go on.
Many thanks
Hope you have a good Christmas
