I have a bitch who is 46 days pregnant. She showed a slight greeny discharge last Sunday, so we took her straight to a vet, who ultrasounded her. She had live puppies and one underdeveloped dead one.... that we could see. Her progesterone was 18. She is now on antibiotic Clavulox, Metomide and Progesterone supplement. Her appetite is good and the discharge seems to have slowed or stopped. My question is, can we hope for a normal, healthy delivery or is it likely the others could die as well? Can she carry the dead puppy for the next 2 and a half weeks without it causing major problems to the others and her? Also, what is the normal progesterpone count for a pregnant bitch?
