Taking for a scan today (again). Still not sure if she's in whelp but yesterday thought that I maybe felt some sort of movement under her rib cage but think this might be too early to feel. She's either about 40 days or anywhere up to a week behind. Scan last week picked nothing up so assume not in whelp or maybe behind.
Unable to tell with her body properly after last time, although she still has titty's but not very prominent and her swelling has not completely disapeared. She is still a nightmare to get her to eat anything except when she feels like it (lol).
Not holding out hope today but you never know. Has anyone else felt movement this early before, don't think she had wind lol.
Hi Sunshine & good luck with your scan. I havn't felt pups move till around day 57. My girl had her pups on day 64. The one we mated at the end of March went off her food for 2 weeks & it was a nightmare trying to get her to eat anything in weeks 4 & 5, but after that her appetite returned & no problem getting her to eat now. Again....good luck, let us know how it goes xx LG
With me it was only in the last week. But with one of my bitches I never felt movement at all!!! There were healthy pups there, I just never felt them or saw them move.

Snap, never felt movement or really saw anything much last time round, but could hear heartbeats in the last week or two (can't remember exactly when) with a stethescope. Going for another palpation on Thursday!

Have bred 2 litters, 1st litter I didn't feel any movement at all which resulted in 5 pups (normal size litter) this time my girl had a litter of nine (v.large litter for breed) and I could feel movement from day 50 (she had them day 57) Good luck with your scan.

Scan didn't show anything. I had a funny feeling that it wouldn't.
So don't know what i felt. Didn't think you could feel puppies that early but wasn't sure, so definitely didn't feel any.

You wouldn't have felt them moving under her ribcage anyway. You feel them after they move down.
And certainly not that early. Sorry. :-(
Thanks for the replies. i'm sure the scan is right. Guess she must have had wind and so much for blood tests. l
My girl missed last summer after blood tests and 2 ties. She has previously had a litter so was very disappointed when it didn't happen. She was mated to a different dog in Feb and we now have a lovely litter of 4. Sometimes, it just doesn't happen - and there appears to be no reason as to why.
Better luck next time - try another stud and see how you get on.
