Topic Dog Boards / General / New breed..?

Now, I got a phone call about an hour ago, a young lad from Dublin asked me if I had any Scottish Bulldog pups. Hm..?

He was adamant and told me he already had a bitch. Asked him to describe her and he came back with: "Looks like a British Bulldog but is white with a brown patch over her eye and not as wrinkly and you can't see her teeth when her mouth is closed." Quoted verbatim.

I have no idea what he is talking about and he got very vexed with me :-p.

Sounds to me as if he has been spun a story as that sounds like a description of a normal English Bulldog except for the faulty colouring.

Yes, thats what I thought but English Bulldogs are few and far between here and VERY expensive. I somehow doubt this lad would have the resources to buy one. He also asked me for a job *gg*.

Who knows Otterhound, they are expensive here as well, would think the lad has been sold a cross breed and spun a story by some unscrupulous breeder or dealer - not for nothing do we talk of being sold a pup!

Suppose it is possible it is simply a Bulldog that was born in Scotland or to a dam that was but that would seem too simplistic.

sounds like the usual cr*p spouted by BYB :( Here we have "devon bulldogs"    advertised as the "healthy alternative to pedigree bulldogs" (sic) and what are they??? Bulldogs crossed with a farm collie!!! :(
