Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Which food to feed!

This has been covered many times before but have been looking around at foods and really am stuck.

Am looking for a good quality food and have read up on timberwolf before but now can't find it in the UK.
Has anyone used Taste of the wild and which one?

Have all normal labs except one.
Brooke is nearly 10 is overweight due to a cruciate injury from a year ago (can't be operated on due to illness). For the last year Brooke had psudemonas but after a really hard time the labs have confirmed it is no longer there. Problem is we still have lungs with a lot of very thick pus in and alot of scar tissue which means we have a bad cough. She has just swopped vet (back to our old vet 200 miles away) as I trust him. The steroids are working and he feels that we will get to the stage where we can have the crucriate repaired :)
She is on many supplements and homeopathic tablets from Richard Allport for pain and obviously the chest problem. She is a very happy but at present not healthy dog so diet is obviously important.
Now I need a decent diet, vet recommended JD but having looked up ingredients would rather not lol. She is currently fed Salmon and rice Arden Grange but has gone off of it. I obviously already have to get her to take many tablets and I am not willing to battle with food.

Any help?

Can Richard Allport advise you on a healthy diet?

There are complete raw foods available now, such as Natural instinct (http://www.naturalinstinct.com/).

If you are looking for a high quality dry along the lines of Taste of the Wild, why not try Orijen or Acana, both readily available in the UK (http://www.bernpetfoods.co.uk/index.html).

Or you could try a wet food, such as Naturediet, Naturesmenu, Natures Harvet or ZiwiPeak.

The list is endless really.....

I have used taste of the wild since it became available in the UK, I have tried all varieties, but my dogs (bichons) seem best on the salmon. I have tried the other foods mentioned, but they must have been a bit rich for them as they got a bit loose!

I genuinely couldnt find a bad word to say about the food- they were on nutro before all their problems, but have settled well on this- I suppose every food is different for every dog, but i recommend this to my other dog owning friends

this is their site www.tasteofthewildpetfood.co.uk

Our bag of Orijen has just arrived to try so will see how we get on but liked the others mentioned on this thread too.
