Just wondering if there's any boxer breeders on this board? It seems most people who post here own Labradors LOL I own a Lab, and a Boxer, and I was just wondering if there's any boxer breeders from the UK on here. I'm from Australia, and I've just bought my first "main registered" boxer pup 4 months ago. Do you have "main" and "limited" register over there too? Or do you just register the show type dogs, and leave the rest unlimited? Just interested:)

Ange

There are owners of almost all breeds on this board. The Lab's seem to be more common at the mo as that is the breed to whom many of the questions currently relate and they are of course a very popular breed. It often goes in waves. Not so long ago it seemed to be all Bull Terrier breeds, staffies etc.A little while ago there was a lot about Boxers on. It is always changing.

Ange, what is a 'limited' register? :-)

We have a main Kennel Club Breeds Register and then there is the Activity Register (Working Trials and Obedience register), where any dog of any ancestry is registered, along with any of their resulting progeny. Any dog on this register may then compete in obedience, working trials, agility and flyball competitions licensed by the Kennel Club. It is not eligible to compete in field trials or gundog working tests though.

Main Register means that You can do anything with your dog including conformation Showing, and Breeding. Limited Register is for pets, but they can also do Obedience and other competitions like agility and flyball, but can't be bred from. There is also another register, which I'm not sure the name of, for crossbred dogs, or purebreds that aren't registered with ANKC, and they can also compete in the same activities as Limited Registered dogs, but they HAVE to be desexed to join.
