there was a post on here a while back asking what people thought of the new doctor,i thought he was ok at first, and while the programme IMO is still better than most of the rubbish on tv,ive nearly lost interest in it.Cant get on with either him or his assistant. What do others think?

I know exactly what you mean, feeling much the same, still enjoying the series, but the doctor is not the mega intelligent whitty saviour of the world anymore, he is a pussywhipped bumbling idiot, I can enjoy it if I am not thinking of him as The Doctor.

DT I miss you!!!!!

Ditto - and almost word for word, although I do think the stories haven't been quite as interesting either.  Dr Who with Christoper Eccleston and David Tennant were required viewing in our house but now I find myself reading the paper whilst it's on, and rolling my eyeballs!!

As the new Dr, Matt Smith is far less engaging and shallow - I'm not sure I'd trust him with a hamster let alone the universe.  From his dress to his manner it's more contrived this time around.  With DT in particular you got a sense that he'd been here before, MS looks like he came down in the last shower, and don't get me started on Amy...

I've missed the last three episodes and not missed them, if you see what I mean!

And that is the rub isn't it? He no longer installs that trust.

Amy comes across as more switched on and capable than The Dr. and as for the whole storyline on and off of the Dr. not even knowing his own tardis anymore also doesn't bare well, it's just making him look silly. Martha was very intelligent if not a little dull, but DT always was the head honcho. Amy makes the Dr look like a little boy who needs his hand held. It's an insult to all the previous Dr's and the 900+ years he is supposed to be.

It's not going well at all. Matt just can't carry off the whit and he certainly does not carry off intelligence in any way.

He seems to come across as bad tempered and intolerant to me :-(

Very disappointing now!  I wondered whether it is more to do with the new writer than anything else, and the sets are all indoors!  I used to like spotting all the 'Cardiff' locations!  :)  Matt Smith has turned the Dr. into an idiot!!

I still like him - but I can see me going back to the 'casual fan' status from the mad obsessive fan I became with David Tennant. Matt is a good Doctor, but with David we had an outstanding actor, a very sexy man, and someone who was also a mad fanboy and loved everything about the show as much as we do, and we've lost all that.

They did start off with Llandaff village green but since then nothing.  There is a film crew in the empty garage at the bottom of our hill here - got all excited and OH went to ask.  Some S4C documentary supposedly.  Several large caravans, loads of cars and people but haven't watched any of the filming.  As for last weeks programme - the fiance just seemed like a hanger on - who wrote his dialogue - terrible.  I cringed when Amy was all over MS the end of the previous week - really thought that was inappropriate.  I would not be surprised if this is the last Dr Who series.
