Hi , my 15 day old LB pups are doing great , piling on weight , very content etc most of the time but yesterday and this morning i have noticed that two of the larger boys were crying and trying to poo. Mum was in the box but not helping them at all.
I wonder could they be constipated? or is it likely that mum is just not stimulating them to poo enough?
I went round them all with a damp cotton wool ball and 3 or 4 of them did quite big poo's , should i be worried. The 2 larger boys seem more settled this morning. They are still completely on mums milk , could they be constipated?

i had this with a litter of spainels afew years ago ,mum had a large litter and wasnt stimulating them all proply ,thay were lifting their legs up and crying ,i helped mum by holding pups for her to clean ,try that? but it dont hurt to check them if their cryin some mums just dont like doing it x
Thanks White Lilly , i have tried that but not really making any difference , she does do it but it seems a bit half hearted , i just wonder if she is not managing to round them all.

In my experience the bitch knows by smell which ones need to go. With my won pups this is about the age when they start trying to go unaided.
I am sure it would do no harm to go round each one with a wet wipe once a day to ensure they have been at least once.
Funnily enough Brainless i ahave just watched her go round them all smelling their bottoms and only cleaned up two of them so i guess the others just didn't need it , should have more trust in her really but as its her first litter i am a bit cautious.
