I am so sorry to hear you lost him - This happened to me with my last litter- two puppies one died just like yours.
Don't feel silly - You did have a bond with him from well before he was ever born and all your dreams and hopes for him. You then focussed everything on willing him to survive and so that bond is very very strong. I often wonder what my other puppy would have looked like even now and think of her and you will do the same. Breeding brings joy and heartache all at once... Wishing you many happy smiles and laughs with your surviving puppies x

I've been following this thread and just want to say I'm so sorry for the loss of your little boy pup. You tried everything but sometimes these things are just not meant to be. We had a similar story with a little bitch pup last year and it completley broke my heart when we lost her, so I can relate to how you're feeling today.

All I will add is that the joy that the surviving pups will bring will help you to carry on. Think what a blessing the remaining ones are to you as you watch them grow and get their little personalities.

So sorry!!

thank you every one for your replies, and heartfelt messages, it really means alot that so many people care who i dont even know. but i dont think anyone who hasnt been threw it can possibly understand, i even tried talking to my mum about it, but i dont think she really understood what it was like.. it was hard as i was trying to be tough and like "well its nature" but this was all false. and when he actually passed away i broke down, hes now been layed to rest at the bottom of the garden, i find myself staring out the window sometimes just looking were he's buried i supose i just feel guilty like i caused this i made this happen, but its done now, and hes not suffering. and like you've all said look what ive got out of it.
i do want to keep them both so im hoping for many happy years ahead with thse two wonderful puppies and there mum xxxxx
