Does anyone know offhand which airlines will take a pup from Uk to Ireland. The pups new owner was coming from Derry to Manchester with Aer Arann but they have now cancelled that run. Tried Birmingham but they want £350 to take a dog!. Lady lives in Southern Ireland.

its only an extra hour from Telford  than it was for our family, plenty of stops for toilet then pup would sleep most of the journey.I worried my self sick when they started thier journey home but she arrived safely and rang me to say they had arrived.

Would definitely recommend the ferry route - cheaper and the dogs seem to find the low light and constant loud hum on the car deck sophorific. Mine just snooze. If it's not too busy, the purser may allow an accompanied visit to the car deck to check all is fine. The fast ferry from Holyhead (A5 all the way from Telford - about 2.5hrs) to Dublin is pretty quick, too.

You may want to consider the Holyhead - Dublin route (Stena-Line).  Its a short crossing and would be about half the distance from you compared to Stranrear.  Dublin is easily accessible from most parts of Ireland so shouldn't be too much of a problem for your puppy buyer to get to either.

I would also recommend the ferry route, my dogs all come to me via ferry as I live on the Isle of Man & for every show we must travel by ferry & we've never had a problem. They are always calm & happy on the ferry and when ever I have a puppy I always ask a member of staff would it be possible to check on them and they are more than happy to come & coo over a puppy ha ha.
I have on many occasions flew to Ireland for shows when there aren't any ferries and they seem to get very hot and bothered when flying.

Hope this helps :)
