There is a bitch in season being walked in our area and my 2 year old - full of hormones at this age anyway - is behaving 'doolally'. Has anyone got any suggestions of what I could give him to calm things down a bit?

Personally I wouldn't give him anything. He may appear to be calmer if you give him sedatives, or similar, but he will still we aware mentally, and it could change his behaviour. I have 2 bitches in season at the moment, and I also have a male who is driving me mad ;-) so I really do sympathise.

If you know where the bitch is being walked I would walk your boy somewhere else, if possible, for the next few days.

My sympathies--I have three doing the doolally bit at the moment, rushing about like mad things and tenderly licking at a scrap of grass where she has left her calling card. Even the youngest who isn't quite sure what's going on is definitely interested. Hurray for dogs! :)
