Would anyone know what would be a decent dosage of a Zantac tablet for a 13kg adult dog. I've read on past posts of 1/4 tab 3 times a day but that was for a 7 month Boxer pup. I don't want to overdose her.
she was given the Zantac liquid a couple of years ago and when I'd used that up I got some zantac tablets from the chemist, the vet was ok with this, and gave I her 1/2 a day off my own bat. I am wondering if she has got an ulcer, she does seem to overproduce acid occasionally and as I can't get her to see our vet who understands her until Friday afternoon i gave her 1/2 Zantac yest. and 1/2 today but would like to know how much I could give her in 24 hours without ODing her!

Zantac isn't licenced for dogs, so you'd need to contact your vet.

Like I said Jeangenie she has already been given Zantac in Liquid form by my vet, and she has okayed the tablets. I just need to know how much to give her in tablet form until I can see my vet on Friday afternoon. as I can't remember how much.

Can't you phone your vet's surgery and ask the appropriate dose?

Would phone the vet if you can't see them - as the medication is not licensed for dogs there is no way anyone would know what dosage should be given to a dog in any particular situation, it is safer to ask the prescribing vet. Even with a known medication it is not possible to suggest a dosage for an animal you do not know and is in fact illegal to do so for POMs.

Then phone her and ask. It's illegal for anyone other than a qualified vet to prescribe medication to an animal.
