Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / how acurate would you say vets are at scanning??

i am looking for a mobile scanner in the south east so i dont have to use my vets, mainly because its been said the mobile scanners know what to look for and some say they are more acurate.

i personally have had a rubbish experience with a surgery i no longer use

how many of you have scanned and been told X amount of pups only for there to be more or less?

i was told NO puppies and bitch gave birth to 8 all weighing lovely weights and healthy pups.....

short of finding a scanner shall be looking to buy a maching and do it myself.

Never expect anything beyond confirmation of pregnancy.

I did not find the sheep/mobile scanner any better than the vets I've used. I once got a locum vet that was spot on, all the others have been wrong every time vets and non vet. I even had a vet recently say a bitch was pregnant (she had been injected with Alizin so I was horrified!), when she called a different vet in to view that one said no, no pregnancy.

Depends very much on the skill of the vet. My vet never gives guarantees but he has always been either spot on or just one out.
