Hello everyone
you may remember me on here before in September last year with a similar problem.
I have mated my bitch who is now day 23 of her season with a light coloured loss. We mated her on day 12 and 14 both with ties of 10 minutes. our stud dog is very keen again again and is happy to mount her - and she is receptive to him... my 1st question is can anyone make any sense of this? she has had a healthy litter of 11 2.5 years ago -
my second question is we have also mated our other bitch who after mating had a light yellow/green discharge lasting 4 days was on a course of synulox and is now fine waiting for her scan in 10 days. but my other bitch above also has this discharge which started after mating (alongside her light pink loss) now they have been mated with different sires - who are all up to date with vaccinations etc.. could this be a normal biological change in the viscosity of the vaginal discharge? - i have not had may litters to be able to make that judgment and others who i have asked have said its not normal
however the loss in orderless..
both the bitches had this last time they were mated in september and around 3 weeks and then both started to loose a dark red/brown vaginal discharge and repeat scans confirmed loss of pregnancy.
I would be so grateful for your help and/or possible ideas of what might be happening here ?
Thanks to you all in advance xxxxx

I would also ask the vet if the second bitch also needs antibiotics. Sometimes after mating they carry on showing colour, however, if there is a yellow/green discharge I would have checked by the vet, would also have her checked as you lost both litters last time.
No real help I'm afraid other than to say my bitch was mated on days 15-19, we're on day 32 of season now and they re-started mating for the last 4 days!! So, hopefully pups in 7 or 9 weeks, who knows?!! :-) :-)

Thank you very much for your speedy replies.
i have spoken to my vets this evening and the long seasons suggest possible ovarian cysts so we are taking blood tests and vaginal cytology on tuesday :( i will keep you posted with the results :( as with our other girl lets just hope the AB's work :(

Remain positive and hope that it is not ovarian cysts - the antibiotics may well work. Have had bitches go down with vaginal infections post mating and with a course of antibiotics they have gone on to deliver their litters with no problems.
Don't forget to update us on the results of the tests.

hi all
just to let you know we had seen a huge change is our girls behavior with our male she has been jumping up at his kennel door wanting to get to him and he has been screaming for her so i went to the vet today for a pre-mate and it says progesterone levels are between 3 and 10 ng/mL therefore Ovulation is imminent and so we will Test again tomorrow afternoon.
So maybe and hopefully she is a late ovulater and she does not have ovarian cysts :)
She will be day 26 tomorrow.
Will keep you updated of the results xx
Thank you all xxx

Hey, you've got a girly that has refused to go by what the books say, just like mine!!

As you lost both litters last time have you considered the CHV vaccine?
